“I left music behind once I turned 17 years old. I quit everything that made my heart sing because I lost my voice to the abuse I faced.” Bleed 4 Me is an alternative punk, power ballad inspired by the sounds of Evanescence, System of a Down, Death, Paramore, and more. This song details the origin of Cunty MeMe’s rage, which is pain. Many times those who are angry or seen as abrasive are continuously misunderstood. Their passion is overlooked along with their pain because of the fear of rage from a Black person. Bleed 4 Me details the time in Cunty MeMe’s life where their voice was taken from them through childhood abuse and IPV, and the fight that ensued to get it back. This track differs from many of MeMe’s other tracks as it features their powerful voice in the front and center that we have yet to experience as well as a vulnerability that runs deep. As a producer, we also feel a deeper connection to their classical music background along with a stronger understanding of their personal sound. Bleed 4 Me is produced by Cunty MeMe with help from Orisun on the instrumentals along with production assistance from Drea the Vibe Dealer. Bleed 4 Me features keys, drums and bass by Kai Black (@bishopkaiblack) and Asha (@rememberasha) on the guitar.

“Bleed 4 Me originally started off as a song on an alt Hip-hop beat, but I later arranged it with a Chicago duo, Orisun. I wanted to focus on creating a soundscape that can be felt and better bring out the performance of these lyrics of pain, heartbreak, and revenge.” This song will be released alongside a music video and a live performance acoustic rendition.
